Key Meeting at Naveen Niwas Concludes; Executive Committee Announcement Soon: Arun Sahoo

Bhubaneswar, 21 April (H.S.): In a key political development amidst speculation of a major organisational reshuffle within the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), a crucial meeting of senior party leaders was held on Monday at Naveen Niwas, the official residence of BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The meeting, chaired by Naveen Patnaik himself, witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders, including Debi Prasad Mishra, Pranab Prakash Das, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Pratap Deb, and Arun Sahoo. According to party insiders, discussions primarily revolved around finalising the formation of the party’s new executive committee.

Sources suggest that a formal announcement of the 81-member list of office bearers is expected soon. The party supremo is said to be personally overseeing consultations to ensure a well-balanced and strategically structured leadership team ahead of upcoming political challenges.

Speaking to the media following the meeting, senior BJD leader Arun Sahoo stated,Decisions regarding the executive committee will be taken in phases. Ultimately, Naveen Babu will decide who will hold which position in the party.

He also categorically dismissed reports of internal dissent, stating, There is no internal conflict or rift within the party.

The meeting is being viewed as a crucial step towards strengthening the party’s organisational framework and consolidating leadership as BJD gears up for future electoral and administrative priorities.
