Kim Vows 'Non-Stop' Military Alliance with Russia Amid Ukraine War

SEOUL, 24 October (H.S.): North Korean leader Kim Jong Un declared that the military brotherhood between his country and Russia would advance non-stop, signaling a deepening of their alliance as Moscow’s war in Ukraine continues.

According to state media outlet KCNA, Kim made the remarks during a speech at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new memorial in Russia’s Kursk region, dedicated to North Korean soldiers who have fought and died alongside Russian troops .

The years of militant fraternity, in which a guarantee has been provided for the long-term development of the bilateral friendship at the cost of precious blood, will advance non-stop, Kim stated. He added that challenges posed by domination and tyranny would not impede the strengthening of their ties.

The ceremony is the latest public display honoring North Korea’s direct involvement in the conflict, which follows a mutual defense pact signed by Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Pyongyang has provided significant support to Moscow’s war effort, sending soldiers, artillery ammunition, and missiles.

Intelligence from Kyiv and Seoul estimates that North Korea has deployed over 10,000 troops to the front lines in exchange for economic aid and military technology from Russia.

In September, South Korea’s intelligence agency reported that approximately 2,000 North Korean soldiers had been killed in the fighting.

The statement from Kim comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin remains defiant in the face of new U.S. sanctions and just a week before U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit South Korea.
