Lakhs of rupees, furniture and documents burnt as     fire broke out in Central Bank

Mumbai, 16 Mar (HS):- Currency notes worth lakhs of

rupees and other documents and goods were razed to ashes as a fire broke out in

the building accommodating a Central Bank branch near Chandur Railway Station

in Amravati district. The fire broke out on Saturday around 12 noon.

Before the Fire Brigade personnel could reach the

site the fire had engulfed the entire building. The cash counter including the

furniture were completely burnt.

The fire was defused by the firefighters. The cause

of the fire was not ascertained. Police are also investigating the total loss

caused due to the fire.
