Delhi, 9 March (H.S.): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today hailed Bhagat Singh Koshyari, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand; former Governor, Maharashtra and Goa and former Member of Parliament, as an extraordinary personality who is leading an ordinary simple life by example. Bhagat singh Koshyari’s struggles, life and contributions to the nation and the society are inspiration not only for the present generation but also for the future generations, observed Om Birla.

He made these remarks while releasing the book, “Parvat Shiromani Bhagat Singh Koshyari” by Madan Mohan Sati at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), Delhi, today.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari; Mohan Singh Bisht, Deputy Speaker, Delhi Legislative Assembly; Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA; Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-chancellor, Central Sanskrit University and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Om Birla honored Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s remarkable life as a student, writer, and statesman dedicated to uplifting the marginalized. He emphasized Koshyari’s unwavering commitment to the nation and recalled his exceptional dedication to service in Parliament and as Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee.

Om Birla highlighted Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s commitment to hill development, forest preservation, and natural resource protection. He commended Koshyari’s humility and adherence to principles as a Chief Minister, Governor, and parliamentarian.

Describing Koshyari as a model of service, integrity, and spirituality, Birla noted that their interactions inspired him to serve the nation. He expressed hope that Koshyari’s book, Parvat Shiromani Bhagat Singh Koshyari, would guide future generations in overcoming challenges and staying dedicated to public service.Om Birla conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the author for penning this remarkable work.
