Lt Gen Pratik Sharma reviews security grid in North Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 10 (KINS): Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, on Saturday visited forward formations and units deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland areas of North Kashmir to review the prevailing security situation.
During the visit, commanders on the ground as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) briefed the Army Commander on the counter-infiltration grid and the security measures being undertaken in the hinterland to dominate the operational space and thwart any hostile activity.
Lt Gen Sharma emphasised the critical importance of a robust intelligence network and close coordination with sister agencies to ensure an effective and timely response to any emerging threat.
The Army Commander also visited the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) at Gulmarg, where he reviewed ongoing training activities.
He laid special emphasis on skill enhancement through the incorporation of modern technology and innovation to further strengthen the operational preparedness of troops operating in challenging high-altitude conditions.
Lt Gen Sharma appreciated the professionalism and operational readiness of the troops and exhorted them to maintain high standards of vigilance and training excellence.(KINS)
