London, May 21 (H.S.): Manchester City has bestowed a memorable honor upon their legendary midfielder Kevin De Bruyne by installing a grand mosaic of him in the City Football Academy and naming the street connecting the academy to the first team center as ‘Kevin De Bruyne Crescent.’
De Bruyne was presented with this honor personally by the club’s chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak on Tuesday. The mosaic, placed near the training pitch, depicts De Bruyne in a celebratory pose. It has been created by local artist and club supporter Mark Kennedy. This memorial is a new addition to the series of honors previously given to the club’s great players—Yaya Toure, Joe Hart, David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho, and Ilkay Gundogan.
Final Home Match Before Leaving the Club
On Tuesday, Kevin De Bruyne played his final home match at the Etihad Stadium against Bournemouth. He will bid farewell to the club after his contract expires in June.
A Glorious 10-Year Journey
Since joining City from German club Wolfsburg in 2015, De Bruyne has scored 108 goals in 420 matches for the club. The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder has established himself as City’s most successful player during his decade-long tenure. He has led the club to six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups, one Champions League, one Super Cup, and one Club World Cup.
This special honor received by De Bruyne has forever enshrined his contributions in the club’s history.
