
Imphal, 1 May (HS): In Churachandpur district, Manipur police have apprehended a suspect linked to the horrific sexual assault and murder of a 9-year-old girl at Lanva TD Block, Lingsiphai. The case, registered at the Women Police Station, has sparked widespread outrage and sorrow across the region.
A multi-agency investigation, launched with urgency, combined forensic analysis, CRPF dog squad assistance, and extensive interrogation of suspects. By examining mobile tower data and call detail records, investigators meticulously traced movements to piece together the crime’s timeline.
A senior police official stated, “Evidence led us to detain one suspect, and the Women Police Station is preparing to file a chargesheet soon.”
This arrest follows another recent incident in Manipur that fueled public anger, intensifying demands for improved child safety and law enforcement accountability.
