Patna/New Delhi, 13 April (H.S.): Nationwide padyatras are set to occur simultaneously in major Indian state capitals, marking a historic event that united thousands of youth in homage to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideals of equality, justice, and fraternity.
The Patna padyatra will commence at Gandhi Maidan, featuring a culturally vibrant path adorned with Tribute Corners displaying Ambedkar’s quotes, live art, street performances on social reform, and musical acts inspired by his legacy.
Key features of the ‘Jai Bhim Padyatra’ include a nationwide reading of the Preamble by MY Bharat volunteers and statue cleaning drives at Ambedkar memorials, highlighting a united adherence to constitutional values.
In Mumbai, Union Minister Raksha Khadse will lead thousands of volunteers and citizens in the padyatra.
Preceding activities in districts aim to boost youth engagement and civic awareness, including statue cleaning, floral tributes, and competitions in schools and colleges. Part of the celebration for the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution, the padyatra encourages youth to join this movement for democracy and unity through the MY Bharat Portal.
