Kathmandu, March 11 (HS): The main opposition party, the Maoists, has called an emergency meeting, suspending all political campaigns regarding the expansion of their party organization. Prachanda, who is leading an awareness campaign in the Tarai Madhesh, has arrived in Kathmandu and is scheduled to address Parliament on Tuesday regarding the increasing activity of the former king. Additionally, a meeting of the opposition coalition has been convened.

Maoist Party President Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has issued directions to suspend all political programs of the party from Monday, stating that the increasing activity of former king Gyanendra Shah poses a threat to democracy, republic, federalism, and secularism. Prachanda has ordered all party leaders to arrive in Kathmandu on Monday for the emergency meeting.

Maoist Party spokesperson Agni Sapkota stated that the large number of supporters of the king coming out on the streets poses a significant threat to the country’s democracy, republic, federalism, and secularism. He mentioned that Prachanda expressed concern that the achievements gained after ten years of armed struggle by the Maoists are now at risk. The Maoist Party has held Prime Minister KP Oli and the current ruling coalition responsible for this situation. They believe that the public has expressed their outrage due to the lack of any actions in favor of the people.

The Maoist spokesperson informed that Party President Prachanda is scheduled to address the House of Representatives in Parliament today, Tuesday, regarding the current political situation. He is expected to propose the formation of an all-party government to safeguard democracy, federalism, and secularism while addressing the changed political climate in the country. Additionally, a meeting of the opposition parties’ coalition has also been scheduled for Tuesday by the Maoists.
