Delhi, 29 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal Party has successfully secured its fourth consecutive term in Canada’s federal elections, overcoming challenges posed by US President Donald Trump’s tariffs and threats of annexation. Following the victory, Carney rallied his supporters, expressing a vision for a united Canada and emphasizing his commitment to move past division and anger.

He acknowledged the contributions of other political leaders and congratulated Conservative challenger Pierre Poilievre for his hard-fought campaign, underscoring his dedication to the country. Carney reached out to those who did not support him, promising to govern for all Canadians and emphasizing inclusivity, especially in the wake of Trump’s controversial comments about Canada becoming the 51st US state.

In response, Poilievre congratulated Carney while asserting the need for change and the Conservative Party’s role in holding the government accountable. He expressed a determination to improve in future elections and affirmed his intention to remain party leader. Poilievre committed to fighting for the Canadian populace, stating, no matter where you live or how you voted, I will always do my best to represent everyone who calls Canada home.
