
New Delhi, March 16 (H.S.): During the trading week from Monday to Thursday, the market capitalization of five of the top ten most valued companies in India dropped by over ₹93,000 crores, primarily due to losses in the IT sector, particularly at Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
The cumulative decline for these companies included a reduction of ₹44,226.62 crores in Infosys and a drop of ₹35,800.98 crores in TCS. Other companies that saw notable declines were Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India (SBI), and Reliance Industries, with market cap decreases of ₹6,567.11 crores, ₹4,462.31 crores, and ₹2,300.50 crores, respectively.
In contrast, the remaining five companies within the top ten, including ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank, experienced an increase in market capitalization, collectively rising by ₹49,833.62 crores. Reliance Industries maintained the highest market cap at ₹16,88,028.20 crores, followed by HDFC Bank and TCS.
