SYDNEY, 25 October (H.S.): Australian captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss on Saturday and elected to bat first against India in the third and final One Day International at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Leading the series 2-0, the hosts are aiming for a complete whitewash.

Marsh expressed confidence in his decision, noting that the pitch looked fantastic under clear, sunny skies. Our young players performed exceptionally well last time. Today is a great opportunity for us to win the series 3-0, the Australian skipper remarked.

He also announced one change to his side, with Nathan Ellis returning to the lineup in place of Xavier Bartlett.

Indian captain Shubman Gill conceded that he would have chosen to bowl first if he had won the toss. Reflecting on the previous match, Gill mentioned that while India posted a competitive total, the team failed to capitalize on key moments.

Australia played very well, he added. In an effort to secure a consolation victory, India has made two changes to its team. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav and pacer Prasidh Krishna have been included, while Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Reddy have been left out.
