
New Delhi, March 11 (H.S.): The Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navin Ramgoolam, announced on Tuesday at a community event that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be honored with his country’s highest award, ‘The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean.’ This will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 21st international honor.
Expressing gratitude, PM Modi said, I humbly accept this decision with great respect. It is an honour for the historic bond between India and Mauritius. He thanked the people and government of Mauritius for the prestigious recognition.
In a special gesture, PM Modi announced the issuance of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards to his Mauritian counterpart Navin Ramgoolam and his spouse Veena Ramgoolam
Previously, Prime Minister Modi had also presented the OCI cards to the President and First Lady of Mauritius.
