
Delhi, 13 March (H.S.): Yoga Mahotsav 2025, inaugurated by Union Minister Pratap Rao Jadhav in Delhi, marks the countdown to International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025. Celebrating its 11th edition, the event features 10 unique signature activities and emphasizes India’s global leadership in yoga. Notable attendees included renowned Yoga Gurus. The Ministry of Ayush has successfully hosted 10 prior IDYs to widespread international enthusiasm. Initiatives like Yoga Parks, Yoga Samavesh, and Yoga Maha Kumbh aim to enhance community engagement and accessibility to yoga for all.
The International Day of Yoga (IDY) has grown into a global wellness celebration since its inception. Key milestones include IDY 2015 in New Delhi with 35,985 participants, followed by significant events in Chandigarh (2016), Lucknow (2017), and Dehradun (2018), each promoting Yoga’s health benefits. In 2020, the event transitioned online, engaging 12.06 crore people. IDY 2021 reached 496.1 million worldwide, and IDY 2023 set two Guinness records. As India prepares for IDY 2025, it continues to inspire millions.
