
Delhi, 5 April (H.S.): In a strategic effort to enhance rural connectivity and foster economic growth, the Ministry of Rural Development has approved projects for Manipur, Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand under PMGSY-III.
In Manipur, 41 roads totaling 280.97 km have been approved with an investment of Rs. 225.15 crore, building on a prior sanction of 56 roads over 502.24 km for Rs. 404.72 crore. Mizoram will receive funding for 07 Long Span Bridges (LSBs) with a length of 373.46 meters at an estimated cost of Rs. 67.69 crore, in addition to 17 previously sanctioned roads measuring 487.50 km at Rs. 562.70 crore. Himachal Pradesh is set to benefit from 21 LSBs totaling 970.772 meters for Rs. 140.90 crore, alongside 299 roads spanning 3,123.117 km and 43 LSBs worth Rs. 3,345.82 crore. Uttarakhand will receive 09 LSBs of 246 meters for Rs. 40.77 crore, supplementing 212 roads measuring 2,287.95 km and 09 LSBs valued at Rs. 1,865.34 crore.
These initiatives aim to improve access to essential services, enhance rural connectivity, stimulate economic development, create jobs, and support the vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat). The projects are expected to have a significant transformative impact on regional prosperity and inclusive development.
