
Delhi, 7 March (H.S.): The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, participated at ITB Berlin 2025, held from 4th – 6th March at Messe Berlin. This premier global tourism fair attracts a wide range of industry stakeholders, including tour operators, travel agencies, and tech companies, providing valuable networking opportunities for industry collaboration and market expansion. The India pavilion was inaugurated by H.E. Ajit Gupte, India’s Ambassador to Germany, alongside Mr. Kandula Durgesh and Mr. Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, Tourism Ministers from Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, respectively.
With Germany being one of the top ten source markets for inbound tourism to India, various states including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Kerala participated to promote new destinations and tourism products. A delegation of 40 stakeholders showcased India’s cultural diversity and tourism experiences, aligning with the goal of enhancing inbound tourism and establishing India as a year-round travel destination. The pavilion highlighted niche tourism experiences, such as wellness, adventure, and gourmet tourism, with a focus on sustainable practices.
Additionally, the Chalo India initiative offers gratis e-tourist visas for non-Indians invited by the Indian diaspora until March 31, 2025. The launch of the revamped Incredible India digital portal also aims to enhance visitor experiences, while the recent Mahakumbh event affirmed India’s status as a significant spiritual destination.
