Delhi/Ottawa, 29 April (H.S.): An Indian student named Vanshika has been found dead in Ottawa, as confirmed by the Indian High Commission in Canada. No details on her cause of death have been released.

On April 29, the official Embassy account posted on X (formerly Twitter) expressing deep sadness over her passing, mentioning that the matter is under investigation by local authorities, and that they are working with her family and community associations to provide assistance. According to the Ottawa Indo-Canadians Association, Vanshika disappeared after leaving home on April 25 to look for rental rooms.

Her phone was off, and she missed an important exam, which was atypical behavior for her. Friends and family reported no contact since that evening and the Association requested information from anyone who might know her whereabouts. Further details are pending.
