
New Delhi, July 31(HS): Mixed signals dominate the global market today, with the US markets closing after a session of mixed trading. Dow Jones futures are currently strong, up 139.74 points or 0.31 percent at 44,601.02 points. The European markets closed slightly higher despite earlier pressure, with the FTSE index up 0.01 percent at 9,136.94 points, the CAC index rising 0.06 percent to 7,861.96 points, and the DAX index increasing 0.18 percent to 24,262.22 points.
In the US, after the Federal Reserve kept interest rates steady, the Dow Jones and S&P 500 indices faced pressure, with the S&P 500 closing down 0.13 percent at 6,362.90 points. However, the Nasdaq managed a small gain of 0.15 percent, ending at 21,129.67 points. In Asia, selling pressure prevails, with 7 out of 9 indices trading in the red.
The Nikkei is up 384.30 points or 0.95 percent at 41,039 points, and the Taiwan Weighted Index rose 0.24 percent to 25,518.12 points. Conversely, the GIFT Nifty is down 150.50 points or 0.61 percent at 24,703.50 points, while the Hang Seng Index shows significant declines, down 371.93 points or 1.26 percent at 24,859 points, along with other indices also in negative territory.
