New Delhi, May 20 (HS) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, labeling him as the modern-day Mir Jafar. They accused him of weakening national security by promoting Pakistan’s propaganda.
Amit Malviya, head of the BJP’s IT cell, alleged in a series of posts on X that Pakistani media was using Rahul Gandhi’s comments to create false narratives surrounding Operation Sindoor. Malviya shared a graphic mocking Rahul Gandhi for questioning Operation Sindoor, captioning it with, Rahul Gandhi is the new Mir Jafar.
Malviya further accused Rahul Gandhi of encouraging Pakistan’s propaganda and undermining national security, suggesting that he should be awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan, the highest civilian honor conferred by the Pakistani government. He claimed that Gandhi’s comments were being exploited by Pakistani media to fabricate false stories against India. Malviya asserted that Rahul Gandhi was neglecting national duty for his political ambitions.
He stated, One question that has already been addressed in the DGMOs briefing. The interesting thing is that he never asked how many Pakistani jets were shot down during the conflict, or how many aircraft were destroyed while sitting in their hangars during bombings by the Indian Army on Pakistani airbases.
Congress leader Pawan Khera responded to the allegations made by BJP leader Amit Malviya, mentioning that Morarji Desai was the only Indian politician honored with the Nishan-e-Pakistan. Khera also pointed out that others, like L.K. Advani and the person who went to have biryani with Nawaz Sharif uninvited, also deserve the Nishan-e-Pakistan. This issue has become a topic of discussion in political circles, leading to a continued exchange of accusations between the two parties.
