Wardha, 14 Apr (HS):- A modern indoor
stadium will be developed in Wardha to prepare the talented sports persons to
compete at an international level. Maharashtra Minister of State for School
Education, Housing (Rural), Cooperation. Mining, and Guardian Minister of
Wardha Pankaj Bhoyar, also directed the authorities concerned to prepare plan
for the indoor stadium.
Bhoyar performed bhoomipujan of a 400 m
synthetic running track and polymer grass football ground to be jointly laid by
The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and Wardha District Sports Office
in coordination with the District Sports Complex Committee. Ex-MP Ramdas Tadas,
District Collector Vanmathi C, Deputy Director of Sports Shekhar Patil, DSO
Asha Meshram were present.
At the outset, Bhoyal launched a signature
campaign on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. A 16-room hostel for
sports persons and a compound wall for the sports complex are being constructed. Besides
providing high-level facilities, work on a badminton hall and shooting range
will be completed soon, Bhoyar said.
Bhoyar felicitated Swarnim Ingole, who has
been selected to participate in a martial art contest in Russia.
