Moments of Pride for Workers of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram

Chaitram Pawar, a worker of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, has been honored with the Padma Shriaward on April 28,2025

New Delhi, April 29 (HS): In a ceremony yesterday evening at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Chaitram Devchand Pawar was honored with the Padma Shri award for his exemplary work in uplifting the tribal community and advocating for environmental causes in Maharashtra.

The All India Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, where Pawar is a dedicated worker, expressed immense pride in his recognition. Senior worker Mahesh Kale remarked that while the Ashram’s workers do not seek awards, Pawar’s achievements highlight 73 years of tireless efforts by the Ashram toward the holistic advancement of tribal communities.

For nearly 35 years, Pawar has actively contributed to rural development, significantly transforming the small village of Baripada. This award not only honors him but also acknowledges the collective dedication of all workers engaged in such social efforts, bringing attention to the self-reliance initiatives in tribal areas.

Kale emphasized the importance of recognition from the President, as it inspires thousands of social workers committed to service. The Indian Government’s recent trend of honoring such individuals serves to uplift morale and enthusiasm among these dedicated workers.
