Kathmandu, 14 February (HS): More than ten thousand students participated in Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh’s annual Swami Vivekananda Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha on Friday this year. Ten thousand students from 500 schools of Kathmandu Valley participated in this Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha organized at the parade ground of Sainik Manch Tundikhel in Kathmandu. Certificates were also distributed to the winning students.
In this regard, RSS’s National Sanghchalak Kalyan Kumar Timilsina said that the interest of school students in Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha is increasing every year. He said that while 8 thousand students participated in it last year, this year more than ten thousand students participated. He also said that with the efforts of the Sangh, a generation is being prepared in the country which, apart from studying the regular course, is gaining knowledge about its country and religion, about its history and geography, about its religion and culture, about its great men and sages.
Praising this campaign of the Sangh, famous social engineer of Nepal, Ujjwal Vikram Thapa said that the way the culture and education system of the western world is dominating our society, this effort being made by the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh is praiseworthy in itself. Addressing today’s program, he said that just speaking fluent English cannot be the basis of education and success. Till the students do not have knowledge about their country, their religion, their culture and their history, all education is useless.
500 schools of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts participated in this event. Books related to cultural knowledge were distributed to all the students a month ago. After giving the question paper to the students present in the parade ground, they were given half an hour’s time. At the end of the program, certificates were also distributed to the winning students.
