Guwahati, 23 April (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a major attack on Congress leader MP Gaurav Gogoi, saying that he stayed in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad for 15 days without informing the central government. He alleged that Gaurav Gogoi’s contact with the Pakistani Embassy has also come to light. Chief Minister Dr. Sarma was talking to reporters after attending a program in Upper Assam on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Sarma said, If someone praises or works for an enemy nation while living within our country, then he is the biggest enemy of the country. Gaurav Gogoi has probably also learned to offer namaz in the Islamic way after returning from Pakistan.
He said that agencies are investigating the matter and the truth of this entire episode will be revealed within September. He also said that it does not look good if the child of a gentleman is a traitor.
These statements of the Chief Minister have created a stir in the political corridors. There has been no official response from the Congress party so far.————–
