The Madhya Pradesh Hastashilp Evam Hathkargha Vikas Nigam Limited (Madhya
Pradesh Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation Limited) is organizing ‘Mrignayani’
an exhibition-cum-sale of handicraft and handloom products at the South Central
Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) Nagpur from March 15 to 23. The exhibition will
feature over 40 exhibitors, showcasing a diverse range of handcrafted products.
The craftsmanship of Chanderi and Maheshwari weavers, with Chanderi sarees being a major
attraction of the exhibition.. Visitors can also explore innovative and
attractive Maheshwari sarees, said M L Sharma, Regional Manager.
In addition to
textiles, the exhibition will feature Panchadhatu (Five metal alloy) sculptures
and tribal crafts from Tikamgarh and Betul districts, offering a glimpse into
the region’s rich artistic traditions.
Sharma
emphasized that the event aims to showcase the traditional and modern arts and
crafts of Madhya Pradesh, promote local artisans, connect them with
connoisseurs, and provide opportunities for skill development, marketing, and
design innovation.
