Nagpur, 27 Feb (HS):-
The final 76 km stretch of the 701-km Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway is now
complete. Initiated by Devendra Fadnavis, this major infrastructure project
will soon be open to the public.
The Maharashtra State
Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced that the expressway will be
fully operational by mid-March. At present, motorists can travel 625 km from
Igatpuri near Nashik to Nagpur.
The final
stretch of the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway is complete, but a connecting
road, currently under construction by the National Highway Authority of India
(NHAI), is still in progress. According to the media report, it is expected to be
completed by March 10.
Officially named
the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, this
expressway is a key infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity
between Mumbai and Nagpur.
Furthermore, it
will cut travel time between Mumbai and Nagpur by half, from 16 hours to just 8
hours. It will also improve connectivity between JNPT in Mumbai and the Nagpur
