National Games: Haryana beat Uttarakhand to win gold in Netball (Mixed)

Dehradun, 14 February (HS): The excitement of the Netball (Mixed) event was at its peak in the 38th National Games being held here. Amidst tough competition and great performance, Haryana won the gold medal by defeating Uttarakhand 39-33 in the final. At the same time, Uttarakhand had to be satisfied with the silver medal.

Fierce competition seen in pool matches

In Pool A, Chhattisgarh defeated Delhi 39-24, while Haryana won against Puducherry 36-25. On the other hand, in Pool B, Telangana defeated Karnataka 26-22, while Uttarakhand defeated Assam 34-29.

Tough competition in the semi-finals

In the first semi-final, Uttarakhand performed strongly and defeated Chhattisgarh by a margin of 35 points. At the same time, in the second semi-final, Haryana defeated Telangana 38-23 and entered the final.

Exciting match for bronze medal

Chhattisgarh and Telangana clashed for bronze medal, in which the match ended in a 31-31 draw, and both teams jointly got third place.

Haryana became champion in the final

The final match was very exciting, where a close contest was seen between Haryana and Uttarakhand. Haryana displayed better game and won 39-33 and won the gold medal.
