
Dehradun, February 11 (HS): Jetley Chingakham of Services and Meena Naorem of Manipur won gold medals in the thrilling matches of the Fencing competition in the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand.
Men’s Epe Competition
In the final of the men’s Epe competition, Jetley Chingakham (Services) won the gold medal by defeating Waheed Sufiyan of Jammu and Kashmir 11-10 in a tough match. In the semi-finals, Jetley Chingakham defeated Pankaj Kumar of his own state 15-11, while Waheed Sufiyan defeated Robert Srimayam of Services 15-12 to make it to the finals.
In this competition, Jetley Chingakham won gold, Waheed Sufiyan won silver and Pankaj Kumar and Robert Srimayam won bronze medals.
Women’s Foil Competition
In the final of the women’s foil competition, Meena Naorem of Manipur defeated Ashitha Jois of Tamil Nadu 15-13 to win the gold medal. In the semi-finals, Ashitha Jois defeated Sonia Vaikham of Manipur 15-12, while Meena Naorem defeated Kanupriya of Haryana 15-11.
In this competition, Meena Naorem got gold, Ashitha Jois got silver and Sonia Vaikham and Kanupriya got bronze medals.
The players performed brilliantly in this fencing competition of the National Games, which made this competition very exciting and worth seeing.
