Dehradun, 8 February (HS): Uttarakhand’s runners performed brilliantly in the 38th National Games and won two medals in the women’s 10,000 meter final. In this thrilling race, Sanjeevani Jadhav of Maharashtra won the gold medal with a time of 33:33.47, while Uttarakhand’s Ankita won the silver medal with a time of 34:31.03 and Sonia won the bronze medal with a time of 35:45.19.

This success of Uttarakhand reflected the growing strength of the state in long distance races. Ankita and Sonia gave a new identity to the sports talent of the state by displaying their stamina and perseverance.

Ankita and Sonia expressed happiness

Expressing happiness over her victory, Ankita said, I recently represented India in the Olympics and now have won a silver medal in the 10,000 meter race in the National Games. I am proud of this achievement and am also happy that this year’s National Games are being held in Uttarakhand.

At the same time, Sonia also expressed happiness over her achievement and said, This is very special for me. I never thought that I would win a medal, but with hard work and dedication it became possible. This victory means a lot to me.
