The organizing committee stated that this decision was made after discussions and dialogue with all parties involved. The safety of players, partners, and the broader community has been prioritized.
In their statement, the organizing committee of the Neeraj Chopra Classic said, We believe in the power of unity in sports, but standing with the nation is more important during this delicate time. Our full respect and sentiments are with our armed forces who are on the front line defending the country.
This competition is part of the World Athletics Gold Label Meet. The organizing committee mentioned that the new date for this prestigious tournament will be announced soon.
