
Mumbai, 27 Feb (HS):- Academic credentials and performance
in the interview will be evaluated for appointment of teachers in all the
non-agricultural universities. Academic credentials, research, and teaching will
have 80 marks, while weightage of 20 marks will be awarded for performance in
the interview. The new system for recruitment of Assistant Professors,
Associate Professors, and Professors suggested by the Governor and Chancellor of
the universities in Maharashtra, will be approved soon.
The procedure will be recorded through audio-visual
equipment to maintain transparency in the recruitment procedure, Minister for
Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil said. The aptitude of the applicant,
seminars and lectures in classroom situations will be evaluated. The selection
bearing signatures of all the members of the selection committee will be sealed
immediately after completion of the procedure. The result will be announced the
next day.
The new procedure is being adopted for all the
non-agricultural universities aimed at improving the quality of education,
Patil said.
