NUJ(I) National Conference: A Grand Confluence of Strong Guardians of Democracy says U'khand CM

Haridwar, March 9 (H.S.): Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually addressed the National Union of Journalists (India) National Conference, emphasizing it as a vital gathering of democracy’s guardians. He highlighted the expanded scope of journalism, amid current challenges, stating that truth-telling journalism reflects society and voices the people’s concerns. He welcomed journalists to the sacred land, stressing that unbiased journalism is crucial for democracy. The conference aims to empower journalism and foster dialogue, driving meaningful national change through the invaluable contributions of journalists.

On the second day of the two-day National Union of Journalists (India) national conference held at the Prem Nagar Ashram in Haridwar, chief guest Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi emphasized that the National Union of Journalists (India) represents active journalists nationwide. Despite evolving journalism pre- and post-independence, the media has consistently upheld its duty as the fourth estate. He highlighted the significant gathering of journalists in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, and noted that the Uttarakhand government is enhancing journalists’ pensions and supporting small newspapers.

Ganesh Joshi affirmed the BJP government’s commitment to addressing journalists’ concerns and meeting expectations arising from conference discussions.

NUJI President Ras Bihari urged Uttarakhand government to enforce journalist protection and ban fake news.

The program was conducted by NUJ(I)District Secretary Dr. Shiva Agarwal. Distinguished guests present at the conference included National President Ras Bihari, General Secretary Pradeep Tiwari, State President Sunil Datt Pandey, Chief Coordinator Aadesh Tyagi, National Vice President Shiva, National Treasurer Dadhibal Yadav, member of the Press Council of India Prasanna Mohanty, Coordinator Ramchandra Kannojia, Press Club President Amit Sharma, Coordinator Dharmendra Chaudhary, along with other distinguished guests were present.
