Bhubaneswar, 6 March (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today moved into his new official residence on Raj Bhavan Marg in Bhubaneswar. The CM held a housewarming ceremony at 10:47 AM to mark the occasion.
Before entering the new residence, several traditional rituals were performed, including the worship of two cows. Accompanied by his wife, the Chief Minister then stepped into his new home.
The official residence on Raj Bhavan Marg had remained unoccupied for the past 26 years, since it was last used by former Chief Ministers Janaki Ballabh Patnaik and Giridhar Gamang. After assuming office, CM Majhi had been residing in government quarters on Gandhi Marg for about eight months.
A priest involved in the ceremony shared that the rituals began with cow worship, followed by other customary practices.
