Bhubaneswar, 1 March (H.S.): An error was discovered in the Science question paper during the ongoing annual Matric Examination conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE).
Students in Baripada town, Mayurbhanj district, appeared for their Science paper worth 46 marks instead of the usual 50 marks, as a question carrying 4 marks was missing from the ‘C’ set paper. According to reports, one of the two descriptive questions was absent in the ‘C’ set of the question paper.
A candidate shared, I received the ‘C’ set paper, which was only for 46 marks. However, the exam was meant to be conducted for 50 marks. The question on the ‘Dimensional Formula of Joule’ was missing.
The BSE acknowledged the error in the ‘C’ set Science question paper and assured students that the issue would be addressed during the evaluation process.
There was a missing 4-mark question in the ‘C’ set of the paper. The Board will consider this during the evaluation of the answer sheets. However, this will not affect the students, said Srikant Tarai, President of BSE.
He also mentioned that 11 students were caught for malpractice during the examination today.
