New Delhi, 23 February (HS): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged to adopt spiritual values, self-discipline and ethical life to promote peace, prosperity and harmony in the world. He emphasized that India has always been a leader in the field of spiritual knowledge in the world and preserving these eternal teachings is important for national progress and human welfare.

Birla made this remark while delivering the keynote address at the Lord Bahubali Mahamastakabhishek Ceremony organized by Dwarkaesh Bhagwan Bahubali Mahamastakabhishek Mahotsav Samiti at Yashobhoomi Convention Center. Saints, scholars and dignitaries attended this spiritual gathering who emphasized the importance of faith, trust and piety in the present times.

Birla highlighted the importance of spirituality to resolve unrest, differences and other social challenges. He emphasized that the teachings given by Lord Mahavira 2500 years ago are still very relevant today.

He praised the role played by saints and spiritual leaders in propagating the message of Lord Mahavira across the country and said that their knowledge and guidance gives new direction to the society and infuses positivity and new energy.

During his address, Birla also mentioned the current Maha Kumbh Mahotsav, where lakhs of devotees took a holy dip in the holy water, carrying forward the millennia-old sacred spiritual tradition. He said that such spiritual ceremonies are a symbol of our faith and collective consciousness.
