Opposition's demand for a special session of Parliament will be decided by the CCPA: Meghwal

New Delhi, April 30 (HS): Following the Phalgam terrorist attack, the opposition has been continuously demanding the government to convene a special session of Parliament. In response, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal stated today that the Central Committee on Parliamentary Affairs will make the decision regarding a special session of Parliament after the terrorist attack.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal mentioned that the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs will decide on the request for a special session from various opposition parties, including Congress, in light of the Phalgam terrorist attack. Meghwal informed reporters that the decision taken by the CCPA regarding convening the session will be communicated.

It is noteworthy that several opposition leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting a session of Parliament to present a collective resolution following the terrorist attack that occurred on April 22. In this attack, 26 people were killed, most of whom were tourists.
