
New Delhi, April 21 (H.S.). Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the security forces on Monday for eliminating eight Maoists, including one with a reward of one crore, in the Naxal elimination campaign in Jharkhand, stating that our campaign to eradicate Naxalism is ongoing.
The Union Home Minister wrote on the social media platform X, “Our campaign to uproot Naxalism is continuously ongoing. Today, the security forces achieved yet another major success in the ongoing campaign against Naxalism. In an encounter in the Lugu Hills of Bokaro, Jharkhand, 8 Maoists were killed, including a top Naxalite leader Vivek, who had a reward of 1 crore rupees, and two other notorious Maoists. The campaign continues. Let us appreciate our security forces.”
In a special joint operation involving the 209 Cobra Battalion, Bokaro Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF, the security forces achieved significant success on Monday in the Lugu Hills area of Bokaro district, Jharkhand. The bodies of the eight killed Maoists have been recovered, three of whom have been identified. Among the Maoists killed in the encounter are Vivek alias Prayag Manjhi, a member of the central committee with a reward of one crore, Arvind Yadav, a member of the Special Area Committee, and Sahib Ram Manjhi, a member of the zonal committee with a reward of ten lakh. Four INSAS rifles, one SLR, and one revolver were recovered from the site of the incident.
