Over 350 Flights Delayed at Delhi Airport, Passengers Stuck for Hours

New Delhi, April 12 (H.S.): Due to heavy air traffic at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in the capital city of New Delhi, over 350 flights were delayed on Saturday. As a result, hundreds of passengers were stranded for hours and expressed their frustration on social media. Passengers waiting at Delhi Airport shared pictures and videos on social media.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) stated in a post on ‘X’ that flight operations at Delhi Airport are improving. However, some flights are still affected due to weather conditions on Friday night. Our on-ground teams and all stakeholders are working together to minimize any inconvenience to passengers. The authority has issued an advisory asking travelers to check flight status on our website and the respective airlines’ websites for the latest updates.

Meanwhile, according to data available on FlightRadar24.com, over 350 flights were delayed, with the average delay for departures exceeding 40 minutes. Adverse weather conditions disrupted operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Friday evening, affecting flight movements on Saturday as well.

Only three runways are currently operational at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, as one runway is currently closed for maintenance work.
