Kanpur,
24 April (HS): As the country mourns the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack,
survivors recall the horrible events that occurred on April 22 in the Baisaran
valley meadow. Kanpur was filled with
tension and sadness when Shubham’s body arrived in his hometown. Shubham’s
father, Sanjay Dwivedi, is still devastated by his son’s murder, which occurred
on a family vacation in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The family had stopped at a café when
terrorists demanded their religious identification, resulting in a deadly
shooting.
Eshanaay, wife of Shubham Dwivedi, one of the
26 persons slain, described the awful moment when a stranger approached them
after a lunch and questioned about their faith.
We sat down after ordering Maggi.
Dad had gone to the bathroom.
Someone questioned if we were Hindu or Muslim. They shot him when I mentioned he was Hindu,
she said.
Sanjay
Dwivedi revealed the grisly facts, saying, The terrorists shot my son
after learning he was Hindu.
Despite my daughter-in-law’s appeal to be slain, they insisted on
keeping her alive to convey a message to Prime Minister Modi. Overwhelmed with grief, the family met with
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and requested severe punishment for the
terrorists. Their punishment should ensure their descendants never dare
to kill again, begged Sanjay Dwivedi.
