New Delhi, March 4 (HS): Pakistan on Tuesday announced the ODI and T20 team for the New Zealand tour. All-rounder Salman Aga has been declared the T20 captain of Pakistan for the upcoming tour of New Zealand. Shadab Khan has been made the vice-captain. At the same time, the command of the ODI team is in the hands of Mohammad Rizwan.

Aga said in an official statement, It is a great honor and also a challenge. In T20, it is a youth-oriented team. We want to improve our approach and intent. We want to adapt to the changing nature of the format till the World Cup. We want to play fearless cricket.

Senior batsmen Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were left out of the T20 team. On their exclusion, Pakistan coach Aaqib Javed said, The style of play and mindset need to change so we have got a young team. Wicketkeeper batsman Rizwan will continue to captain Pakistan’s ODI team.

Under Rizwan’s captaincy, Pakistan’s team performed poorly in the Champions Trophy 2025, due to which the team was eliminated from the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan has to play a five-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series on the New Zealand tour. The T20 series will start on March 16. After this, a three-match ODI series will be played between the two teams from March 29.

Pakistan ODI team: Mohammad Rizwan (captain), Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain), Abdullah Shafiq, Abrar Ahmed, Aaqib Javed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Imam ul Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Muhammad Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Sufyan Mokim, Tayyab Tahir.

Pakistan’s T-20 team: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Hasan Nawaz, Jahandad Khan, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Irfan Khan, Omer Bin Yousuf, Shahin Shah Afridi, Sufyan Mokim, Usman Khan.
