New Delhi, May 09 (HS): The central government has rejected the claims of a suicide attack on a military brigade in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, and a drone attack in Jalandhar, Punjab. It has been stated that the news and videos circulating on social media are fake.

The fact-checking branch of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) found that there has been no ‘fidayeen’ or suicide attack on any army camp in Jammu and Kashmir, and the video claiming a drone attack in Jalandhar is related to an incident of fire in a field.

Pakistan has been rattled after the Indian Army destroyed nine major terrorist hideouts located in Pakistan and PoK under Operation Sindoor. Pakistan attempted to attack several military and civilian areas in India, particularly Jammu city, at night, but was completely thwarted by Indian security forces.

Meanwhile, fake news about a fidayeen attack in Rajouri began to spread rapidly on social media. The PIB fact-check team wrote on their X handle, “Fake news about a ‘fidayeen’ attack on an army brigade in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, is being circulated. There has been no such fidayeen or suicide attack on any army camp. Do not fall for these false claims that are meant to mislead and create confusion.”
