PIL in SC to ensure Tourist Security and safety in hills states

YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia approaches Supreme Court in obscene comment case

New Delhi, April 23 (HS): A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The petition demands that the central and state governments be directed to take adequate measures for the safety of tourists in the valley and to deploy security forces.

Advocate Vishal Tiwari, in his petition, stated that adequate medical facilities should be established at tourist spots, especially in remote and hilly areas, so that immediate medical aid can be provided in case of any emergency. The petition mentions that most of the states in North India are dependent on tourism, with a significant number of tourists visiting during the summer months. If any terrorist incidents occur in these states, it severely impacts the economy. Therefore, adequate steps need to be taken to ensure the safety of tourists in these states.

The petition also highlights that during the Pahalgam terrorist attack, it became evident that adequate security arrangements were not in place. Security forces should have been deployed in such areas so that tourists could enjoy nature in a peaceful environment. The petition further demands that sufficient security measures be put in place during the Amarnath Yatra as well.
