
Islamabad, March 04 (HS): A team of specialist Doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Monday conducted a thorough medical examination of country’s ousted Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding president Imran Khan. Khan has been lodged in Rawalpindi Central Jail (Adiala Jail) for a long time. He has been kept in a cell with high security and surveillance in this jail.
According to The News International, a team of specialist doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences arrived on Monday for an intensive medical examination of Imran Khan. The team included ear, nose and throat specialists. Imran Khan had complained of ear pain some time ago.
The report quoted sources in Rawalpindi Central Jail as saying that after a detailed examination, the doctors prescribed medication and necessary treatment. The checkup lasted for more than half an hour. After this the medical team left the jail. Jail officials said that the condition of the PTI president remains stable. All necessary medical assistance is being provided to him. Imran Khan’s legal team and party members have expressed concern over their leader’s health. Supporters and human rights activists have urged the authorities to ensure adequate medical facilities for political prisoners.
