Pinarayi wants more cops, APC and battle tank to beef up his security

Thiruvananthapuram,04 May(HS): With Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising him to the hilt and describing him as the main pillar of the INDI Alliance, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s stock has gone up across the nation. Vijayan’s close associates have decided to approach the Prime Minister’s Office and the Union Home Minister to upgrade the former’s security from the existing Z Plus category to further heights.

Vijayan’s threat perception comes mainly from other constituents in the INDI Alliance and his rivals in the party, accorsing to security experts in Kerala. His rivals including M A Baby (CPI-M’s all India general secretary) Thomas Issac and John Brittas MP are manipulating a strategy to dethrone Vijayan from the post of chief minister. The trio is following the route preferred by Chanakya, the Hindu statesman who succeeded in ousting his enemies from the seats of power intelligently.

To begin with, Vijayan is reported to have asked the Union home ministry to beef up his security by inducting specially trained commandoes in his security rings and also deploying high-end cars in his cavalcade of cars. The chief minister has suggested that he be provided with bulletproof SUVs and even armoured personnel carriers (APC). Though Vijayan enjoys the highest security in the country with more than 500 armed cops guarding him during his outings, he has asked for deploying more security and even a couple of battle tanks to his security ring.

Since the Prime Minister’s description of Vijayan as the main pillar of the INDI Alliance, leaders like M K Stalin and Mamta Banerjee have started viewing him as a threat to their dreams of reaching the highest position in India.
