Delhi, 8 May (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting with secretaries from various ministries, emphasizing the necessity for alertness and operational preparedness following ‘Operation Sindoor’. The meeting focused on enhancing civil defense measures, combating misinformation, and safeguarding critical infrastructure, as per the Prime Minister’s Office. Modi urged for close coordination between ministries and state authorities to strengthen national security support systems.

The discussions were framed by the recent military actions against terror targets in Pakistan, highlighting the urgency for seamless inter-ministerial cooperation. The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to national security and citizen safety during this sensitive period. Secretaries were directed to conduct thorough reviews of their ministry operations to ensure operational resilience and effective emergency response mechanisms.

A comprehensive assessment of action points relevant to the ongoing conflict was outlined, with ministries adopting a ‘whole of government’ approach. They have identified essential tasks and reinforced procedures to address potential challenges effectively.

The meeting comprised the Cabinet Secretary, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, and key ministry secretaries, including those from Defence, Home Affairs, and Health.
