New Delhi, 22 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and skipped an official dinner according to Government Sources following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 people, primarily tourists, were killed on Tuesday. The attack, marked as the Valley’s deadliest since the 2019 Pulwama strike, left two foreigners and two locals among the deceased.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the incident as unprecedented in recent years. Eyewitnesses reported terrorists firing on tourists at the popular meadow near Pahalgam, leading to at least 20 injuries.

The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility, raising concerns about their possible movements from Jammu to Kashmir.

PM Modi is now slated to depart tonight instead of tomorrow as a response to the situation.
