New Delhi, March 30 (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his monthly Radio Broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, extended his wishes to the countrymen for the Indian New Year, which begins from the Pratipada date of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month.

In the 120th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister mentioned that today marks the beginning of Chaitra Navratri. He noted that between April 13 and 15, there will be a grand celebration of festivals in different parts of the country. This whole month is filled with festivals, and he congratulated the countrymen for these celebrations.

He said that today the festival of ‘Ugadi’ is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. ‘Gudi Padwa’ is celebrated in Maharashtra. In our diverse country, in the coming days, ‘Rongali Bihu’ will be celebrated in Assam, ‘Poila Boishakh’ in Bengal, and ‘Navreh’ festival in Kashmir.

In the 120th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ PM Modi reflects on the end of exam season, heralding the arrival of summer vacations, which evoke fond childhood memories and opportunities for both leisure and learning. He encourages children to dive into new hobbies through various workshops, including technology and leadership, while schools offer interesting classes in speech and drama. Community involvement and volunteerism are emphasized during this break. Families are urged to explore MY-Bharat’s summer activity calendar, engaging in experiences like Jan Aushadhi Kendras and community campaigns.

The importance of water conservation is highlighted, with collaborative efforts leading to impressive savings of over 11 billion cubic meters of water through modern infrastructure, surpassing the capacity of Govind Sagar lake. An inspiring example from Karnataka showcases villagers restoring two lakes, embodying the ‘catch the rain’ initiative.

Alongside these discussions, the achievements of athletes at the Khelo India Para Games are celebrated, emphasizing the dedication and talent present in Para Sports.
