New Delhi, April 6 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first vertical lift sea bridge in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu on Sunday, along with the launch of the Rameswaram-Tambaram (Chennai) new train service and a coast guard ship. The Pamban sea bridge will provide a rail link between the mainland and Rameswaram Island. The event was also attended by Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Rameswaram by plane after a successful visit to Sri Lanka. During his flight, the Prime Minister viewed the Ram Setu from the sky. During this time, he also had the opportunity to virtually witness the Surya Tilak of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
The Prime Minister said on X, “Today, on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, I had the divine vision of Ram Setu from the sky while returning from Sri Lanka. By divine coincidence, at the same moment that I was viewing Ram Setu, I was also fortunate to witness the Surya Tilak of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. My prayer is that Lord Shri Ram’s grace remains upon us all.”
