PM Modi to Address PRIs and Launch Projects in Bihar Today

Delhi, 24 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and gram sabhas across the country at an event in Bihar’s Madhubani today, April 24.

This event will also mark the launch of several projects worth approximately ₹13,500 crore. This will be the prime minister’s first public address following the recent terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

The event will commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the 73rd Constitutional (Amendment) Act, which gave constitutional status to panchayats as institutions of rural local self-government. PM Modi is expected to reach Lohna Uttar Gram panchayat in Jhanjharpur block of Madhubani district and participate in the event at around 11:45 AM. He will also flag off Amrit Bharat Express and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail in Bihar.

On this occasion, he will also address PRIs and gram sabhas across the country and confer Special Category National Panchayat Awards 2025.The National Panchayati Raj Day is being observed as a major national programme with the participation of six Union ministries.

However, another event scheduled to be held in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh has been cancelled due to the recent terror attack.

This event holds significance as Bihar is going to have assembly elections later this year. Overall, it is expected that Prime Minister Modi’s address will bring about momentum for rural development and empower local self-governance in the country.
