
– PM to lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over Rs 26,000 crore in Palana, Bikaner
-PM to inaugurate 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations in 86 districts across 18 States and Union Territories of India
Delhi, 20 May (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan on May 22, starting his itinerary in Bikaner with a darshan at the Karni Mata temple around 11 AM. At approximately 11:30 AM, he will inaugurate the redeveloped Deshnoke Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and flag off the Bikaner-Mumbai express train. Subsequently, he will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate various development projects exceeding Rs 26,000 crore, along with addressing a public gathering in Palana.
Demonstrating his commitment to improving rail infrastructure, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories of India, developed at a cost of over Rs 1,100 crore. The initiative involves over 1,300 stations being modernized, incorporating regional architectural themes and enhancing passenger amenities, including facilities for Divyangjan. Notable examples include the Deshnoke station, inspired by temple architecture, and several other stations reflecting local cultural heritage.
The Indian Railway’s goal of 100% electrification enhances operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. In line with this objective, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Churu-Sadulpur rail line (58 km) and dedicate several other rail line electrifications across Rajasthan and beyond.
Additionally, there will be significant advancements in road infrastructure as the Prime Minister lays the foundation for three vehicle underpasses and the widening and strengthening of national highways. He will dedicate seven roadway projects in Rajasthan valued at over Rs 4,850 crore, facilitating smoother transport and enhancing accessibility for security forces near the Indo-Pak border.
Prime Minister will advance the vision of universal electricity access and promote green energy by laying the foundation stone for several power projects, including solar initiatives at Bikaner and Nawa in Didwana Kuchaman, along with evacuation transmission systems through PowerGrid Sirohi and PowerGrid Mewar. In addition, he will inaugurate power projects such as the solar installation in Bikaner, and the transmission system for PowerGrid Neemuch, which will enhance energy capacity at the Fatehgarh-II Power Station while contributing to carbon emission reduction.
The Prime Minister will also initiate and dedicate 25 significant state government projects throughout Rajasthan aimed at improving infrastructure, connectivity, power supply, health services, and water availability. This includes the foundation laying and dedication of projects for upgrading and maintaining 12 state highways spanning over 750 km, with an investment exceeding Rs 3,240 crore, while additional expansions will add around 900 km of new highways. Furthermore, he will inaugurate power projects in Bikaner and Udaipur, and officially open nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur, significantly enhancing health infrastructure in the state.
He will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate several water infrastructure projects, including a Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project in Jhunjhunu District and the restructuring of Urban Water Supply Schemes in seven towns of Pali District under the AMRUT 2.0 initiative, among others. These efforts are designed to strengthen the state’s overall development and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
