New Delhi, Sept 21 (HS): The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Sunday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inspiring address to the nation on Goods and Services Tax (GST), calling it a significant step toward building a transparent and progressive economy.CAIT National Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal, while reacting to the Prime Minister’s remarks, said that the address not only reassured the trading community but also strengthened the faith of 1.4 billion Indians in the country’s taxation system.

Khandelwal, who is also a Member of Parliament, remarked that the Prime Minister once again demonstrated that GST is more than just a tax reform. “It is a powerful instrument for creating a transparent, simplified, and forward-looking economic framework,” he said, adding that Modi’s vision of a next-generation GST reflects the aspirations of traders, consumers, and every citizen who envisions India emerging as the world’s third-largest economy.

Highlighting the Prime Minister’s clear message on ease of compliance, reducing tax burdens, enhancing transparency, and boosting consumption, Khandelwal noted that the speech has infused fresh energy into the business community. He further affirmed that CAIT is committed to working shoulder-to-shoulder with the government to ensure that the benefits of ongoing GST reforms reach every small trader, every consumer, and every corner of the country.
